MerpCon IV Event Information as of April 3, 2008.

People have been asking for some more details on the event. So here's what we have so far...

MerpCon IV will once again be held in Spokane, WA, USA.
It (as always) is held the last weekend of July each year. In this case, for 2008, that falls on July 25th, 26th, and 27th (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
We're working on the exact schedule of events, but the approximate timeline is:
Friday from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm. (with pre-convention events starting earlier)
Saturday from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm.
Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (with post convention events running later).

This was planned for the Kung Fu For Life school building on 127 East Mission in Spokane, but they are planning on moving their school to a new location. They are still planning to host the event, but we need to see if the new building will be a good fit for the event, or if we need to find a new location. Stay tuned for updates on that part.

Our special Guest Speaker is confirmed as John D. Rateliff, author of "The History of The Hobbit". He will also be hosting a table as a Game Master.

Additional guest speakers may include Professor Chris Seeman, Michael Martinez and potentially others.

The theme for this year's event will be significantly from the previous years. In previous years it was a Numenor-based theme. This year it is a Dwarven-based theme.

For those who absolutely can't make it physically to any of the events this year, we will once again be broadcasting live via video and audio, for the guest speaker sessions. You can check into the IRC (Internet Relay Chat) room to pose interactive questions with the guest speakers real time, as well as observe the general gatherings and game events from afar. However, you will definitely miss out on a lot if you can't make it to the event in physical form. At lest the virtual access is better than nothing, and will hopefully entice your participation in coming years.

We are working on having the brand new and improved RSVP forms finished in the next few days/weeks. So you can reserve your time slots, table seats, and character information.

We look forward to seeing you there!
