MerpCon IV Detailed Schedule (Draft 2008-04-14-a not yet finalized)

by MerpCon Website Administrator last modified 2008-04-17 22:53

This is a proposed draft of the MerpCon IV detailed schedule. Feedback is appreciated.

The pre-convention time is to allow volunteers to help work together in the final stages of preparation for the event.
A lot of preparation goes on months before the event, this is the final "last sprint" to get all the loose ends tied and ready.
This year we will try to provide incentives to volunteers to come early by providing breakfast, lunch and dinner to those who help out early, and afterwards help clean up in the post-convention day (Monday).
One of the number one issues with the past convention, has been the report of it feeling so "marathon-like" and "grueling".
Most wanted more time to just "socialize" and shoot the breeze, especially with the special guests. Some are old friends that only get to see each other at this event once per year. So, this year, we will attempt to have more social time interspersed with all the role-playing, guest-sepaking, and other events.
I am also looking into the costs for having breakfast, lunch, and/or dinners catered so that socializing can take place at the convention facility. More information on that later.
